Overall this is a good attempt at this first TMA. You have achieved a Pass 3 which is a good start to the module. The different tasks are broken down as follows - Task 1: 20, Task 2: 10, Task 3: 27. The other main things that you could do to further improve is to add more theoretical support into your work and do this correctly. Look to write in a more academic style; be concise, focused and simple making every word count, only provide content essential to the question. Build understanding of the points you make to be more concise, focused and balanced around the key aspects of the question. This can be done using a Define, Explain and Apply strategy. Do this for each point you make and then move on; look to be have more balance between theory and application. This will allow you to be more focused with your answers and maximise understanding for the reader. There are some additional resources on the TGF. There are comments written throughout the script using 'comment boxes' and/or tracked changes (red text). Please contact me if you are unable to access this feedback. I will give an overview of each section here but please do refer to the comments that I have written on-script.
Part 1 asked you to analyse Martha's experience using two of the following arousal-performance theories to explain any physiological and psychological changes she went through, and the impact this had on her performance. Make sure you are aware of and then stick to the guidance; the answer only required 2 theories to be discussed. You have shown an understanding of the models and applied them to the case study. The answer needed more theoretical support of the points you make. Referencing more frequently would have supported the application here and you need to the scene with key points and build from there before applying. This strategy will be helpful for this as it will give you focus and make you more concise in your writing.
Part 2 required you identify Martha's possible sources of confidence and explain how these could be used to help her regain confidence. You did identify sources of confidence and provided some strategies to demonstrate your understanding. There needed to be more references to add further support to the points you make. Doing will easily improve your grade in subsequent TMAs.
Part 3 needed you to discuss the key factors that may be preventing Martha's team from functioning effectively and suggest appropriate advice. You have given an appropriate answer and show some understanding, but again this needed more theoretical support. Remember that each point needs to be supported. This theoretical support/depth of the factors would show your understanding and also look to make links between them as there is overlap, this would increase the marks you can be awarded. This can be done using the strategy of define, explain and apply and a 'less is more approach'. Another answer whereby if there was a couple more references would be improved further, this is an important part of academic writing.
Overall, you are showing a good level of knowledge of the course materials.

For TMA02, I would like to see you:
1. Ensure you take every opportunity to reference your points to provide the theoretical depth.
2. Employ a define, explain and apply strategy when constructing your answers
3. Ensure clarity in the points you are making
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like me to clarify any of the points presented.
Finally, do make every effort to attend the next tutorial on 11th January 2023 at 19:30. If you can't make this there will be a recording of another tutorial available. The focus of this tutorial will be around preparations for TMA2.
